In 2003, Dr. Goldstein received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine, with focused training on the husbandry, care, assessment, and medical treatment of marine mammals.
Presently, she serves as the Staff Veterinarian and Medical Manager for the FAU-Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute Marine Mammal Research and Conservation Program. In this capacity, Dr. Goldstein provides specialized veterinary care to sick and injured marine mammals, conducts NOAA-funded projects to investigate heart disease in whales, and helps manage live dolphin health/risk assessment programs in the Indian River Lagoon. "Dr. Juli” is also a respected faculty member of Florida Atlantic University. In the role of Research Professor, she serves as a mentor to aspiring veterinarians and those wishing to become involved in the field of marine conservation medicine. She lectures nationally and internationally on issues concerning connections in human and animal health to increase public awareness regarding the condition of our oceans and to encourage the public to embrace the concept of "Going Blue".
Juli is not only a dedicated conservationist and steward for ocean health, she also plays an active role in her community. She is a strong leader in the Indian River County Junior League and the Rotary Club. As a member of the Sun-Runners Club of Vero Beach, she trained to compete in the 2009 Boston Marathon and continues to participate in marathons across the country.
